Our Mega Birds Store is a “click and brick” retailer/wholesaler specializing in hand-fed (syringe, NOT tube) Macaw parrots. We also have over 70 toys and cages in stock, emphasizing safety!
Most food lines emphasize Goldenfeast, Kaytee, and Higgins for seeds, Zupreem, Pretty Bird, Kaytee, Harrison Bird Diet, and Roudybush for pellets.
We are an authorized dealer of first-quality cages, such as Tri Birds, Strong Bird Cages, Featherland Bird Cages, Kings Cages, and HQ Cages. Our specialty is stainless steel bird cages.
We also carry the best cage, rolling, and tabletop natural wood perches made from sandblasted grapevine, natural and sandblasted manzanita, coffee, and sandblasted dragon wood. Natural wood is essential because its varying diameter helps properly exercise birds’ feet. In contrast, wooden dowels can lead to muscle atrophy and arthritis due to the limited range of motion they offer the feet.
Established in 2009, we have been around for a while and have always satisfied our customers.
We have more than 337 distinct customers, largely acquired through word-of-mouth referrals. At our Macaw Farm, bird ownership experience is essential for employment, ensuring that everyone you interact with has direct knowledge of owning birds.
We must all take responsibility for our birds because they rely solely on us. In an ideal world, rainforests would remain undisturbed, eliminating the necessity for breeding programs or acquiring land in native habitats to save endangered parrot species.
However, we do not live in a perfect world. Many of the parrots in their natural habitats would likely face extinction within 20 years if not for (1) domestic breeding programs (despite opinions from a Greenpeace founder) and (2) the preservation of their habitats through initiatives like those by the Nature Conservancy. Without reputable and ethical retailers and breeders, most domestically raised birds endure miserable lives and often perish due to neglect. Before deciding to bring a parrot home, please ensure you fully comprehend the responsibilities of bird ownership. Parrots can live up to 60 years (so remember to update your will accordingly) and generally thrive best in a consistent household environment.
We frequently turn down individuals who admire exotic birds and wish for a talking parrot but need help understanding the daily intellectual stimulation needed to care for these fascinating creatures properly. This principle has been fundamental to our business.
Certainly, we facilitate the placement of birds in loving homes rather than simply selling them. Our mission is to support breeders who play a crucial role in sustaining species by nurturing and placing domestically raised birds in caring households. Why? So that children can always experience real, live parrots firsthand, ensuring they don’t hear stories that begin with, “I remember when they flew in the rainforests….”

All employees at our Farm are required to own at least one bird, and many of us have several. Birds are cherished members of our family indefinitely.
To enrich our knowledge, we consistently attend major trade shows, visit various manufacturers and breeders, and seek the finest industry training. The store owners, Rick Horvitz, Ian Brown, and Katie Calcasola, are all Certified Avian Specialists.
We aim to offer our birds the healthiest food, the safest toys, and a highly social environment. Every day, we rotate all birds out of their cages to spend time on our natural wood floor stands, allowing them to play and socialize with their companions, fostering valuable social skills.
